Our class learned about slogans this week while advertising their book club book. They used their creativity to think of a catchy slogan and designed a poster with a summary. These intelligent scholars are ready for 4th grade!

We had a special guest come to our classroom this week. My mom, Tracey, works for U.S. Fish and Wildlife. She visited us on Wednesday and taught us how to make animal tracks. :) Learning is sure messy!
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Our 3rd grade scholars were engineers this week! We build the tallest tower out of index cards and masking tape. We built the strongest bridge out of straws, and a boat raft that could hold 4 marbles out of straws. AWESOME! Here are some moments:
Our Chinese teacher Li Loushour led an art project with our class. Each color on the masks represent something in Chinese (ex: red for courage). Here are some awesome pictures of our class.
Our 3rd Grade scientists learned about the bones of the human body. We dissected owl pellets to find bones. Cool! We made a model of the human vertebrae. The hard life savers represent the individual bones, or vertebra. The gummy life savers represent the flexible cartilage which keeps the vertabra together making up the vertebrae. Who knew bones could be so much fun!?
I'm experiencing technical difficulties loading Drew and Janayah's videos. Will update soon!

Thank you families for coming to see their work! :) Here are some photos and videos to show our fun day. It's Read Across America Week! We had several mystery readers read to our class. The students really enjoyed the read alouds and the dress up days too! Thank you to Kendel's mom, Sadie's mom, and Ms. Jarrett, our practicum student. Here are some cool pics from the week:
Wow! We have been super busy in 3rd Grade learning about the multiplication strategies we can use with our facts. We put our skills to the test by making posters showing the strategies we know to solve for different facts. The students collaborated to make their posters, then presented their strategies to the class. Videos: For some reason, the audio quality is poor on the 1st and 2nd videos. So sorry! |
