Every Friday we have a Greatness Circle. Today we had a very special Greatness Circle. This year, we are so lucky to have two Chinese teachers at our school. They are teaching us Chinese and sharing about their culture. They joined us today for our Greatness Circle! Check out these pictures from our morning. Photos courtesy of Emily Tran.
Our scholarly 3rd graders report what is going on in Math, Science, ELA, and Writing. Tip: Turn the volume on your computer or tablet WAY up! I will have to fix the sound problem. :)
We had an awesome kickstart week of 3rd Grade! We implemented the 4 C's into our week as we explored, build, hypothesized, and reflected! The four C's stand for Creativity, Collaboration, Communication, and Critical Thinking. We discussed what each word means and how it applies to us. We used the 4 C's when we Saved Fred and built the tallest free-standing structure out of spaghetti noodles and marshmallows! Oh, and we had fun, too! Students hypothesized out how to save Fred first before starting: Next, they implemented their hypotheses: We celebrated our success! Our engineering project involved spaghetti noodles, a marshmallow, masking tape, and string. The tallest free-standing structure was 39 inches tall! We can't wait to share with you more about our next adventure!
